The Stormwater BMP Recognition Program
The Stormwater BMP Recognition Program recognizes innovative stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the southeastern region of Pennsylvania. The Temple - Villanova Sustainable Stormwater Initiative (T-VSSI) will be recognizing the best stormwater projects in the following categories:

  • Operations (e.g., monitoring, inspection or maintenance)

  • Retrofit to an existing stormwater facility

  • New facility

Each project must demonstrate in its project description that it meets at least two of the evaluation criteria:

  • Water Quality Improvement

  • Stormwater Runoff Reduction

  • Erosion Reduction

  • Velocity Reduction

  • Ecological Restoration

  • Use of Native Species

  • Monitoring, Inspection or Maintenance Protocol

This year the T-VSSI will be giving special emphasis to projects that report lessons learned from observation, monitoring, inspection or maintenance of the stormwater facility. Lessons learned should describe improvements that could have been incorporated into the design, construction, maintenance or inspection phases and would improve stormwater management.
